How about discussing cryptography and security of communication.
Firstly let’s understand when do we need that? I see the following cases:
- when transferring money from a bank account or even making them with cryptocurrency,
- to protect vulnerable information like personal data, passwords, credit card details
- and in some special/government forces like an army, border guards, and police to fight an enemy.
So what is it?
These are techniques that make sure that a given message/data is only read by the right people in a presence of third parties. Cryptography is mainly based on mathematical functions which change plain text into a cipher and vice versa. Different techniques are used for different cases and security analysis is used to establish which is the best for which type of communication.
